These are the some problems that can be expected on a 1500 hour run-out turbine.  An easy repair for Diemech Turbines.

	A deflector behind the outer combustion chamber. Once the deflector has come apart, (a common problem on the D & E turbines), the metal pieces damage the compressor turbine blades, causing an imbalance and further metal fatigue.  The metal from the deflector and the compressor turbine blades pass through the power turbine blades, causing more damage, and in some instances, failure.  A borescope inspection can be done through the start torch and compressor turbine nozzle.  Damage on the power turbine blades can only be checked through the exhaust situated at the trailing end of the blades, making it difficult to check the leading edge of the blades.

These are the labyrinth seals in the inner combustion chamber. These seals can not be checked unless dismantled.  The seals in the photo on the left were damaged due to a hard landing and followed by a prop strike which collapsed the bearing casing situated at the compressor turbine disc.
